The melody, Meva's Theme, was composed by her beloved, Yoshio Ueno--nicknamed Handsome--a gifted musician who breathed life into it on the OCAR sax, a cherished gift from Zenna.
While the human birth system called P.A.S.S. nurtured "baby" Meva into existence, Handsome's curiosity burned brighter than caution. Ignoring the firm warnings of Talen--Meva's father and a devoted scientist--he ventured into the gestation chamber, eager to witness the miracle firsthand.
The sight of her stole his breath. A radiant redhead, delicate yet mesmerizing, she captivated him in an instant. Overcome, he lifted his sax and played the newly woven melody, a tune born of his longing.
The notes enveloped her like an embrace, awakening something deep within. Her gaze softened, her heart yielded--from that moment, she was his.
In galactic notation, a universal system spanning the cosmos, A4 (the A note in the fourth octave) was set to 432 Hz, resonating with Earthling frequencies for calming and healing, including for performers.
Chords appeared at each bar's start, defined by the lowest note's frequency and formation. For instance, 457m marks a Bb4 minor chord (Bb4, Db5, F5), while "457" alone denoted Bb4 major (Bb4, D5, F5).
Below is a guide to chord symbols in galactic notation, listing the root's frequency (Hz) and qualities like major, minor, diminished, seventh and so on.
The OCAR Sax Yoshio played could interpret chord symbols and, based on the note he pressed, its intelligent sequencer system would form the chord's tones in the best octaves and inversions. The resulting sound combined his melody with a continuous chord progression, harmonized optimally by the instrument.
Handsome's and Zenna's themes were also Yoshio's works, written in galactic musical notation. While his playing moved Meva and Zenna, Meva's mediocre attempt at Handsome's theme surprised him, bringing him to tears.
Yoshio meticulously transcribed Meva's Theme from its original galactic notation into Earthling musical notation, setting it in the key of C# minor.
Based on this transcription, the theme's structure unfolds as follows:
From Bar | Structure | |||
1 | : | Chorus A1 | ||
5 | : | Chorus A2 | ||
9 | : | Bridge | ||
10 | : | Chorus B1 | ||
14 | : | Chorus B2 | ||
17 | : | Outro |
To aid in melodic singing, Yoshio also incorporated solfege syllables. Below is the central melodic theme, expressed through solfege syllables (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti):
A countermelody from Meva's theme was also present in many of Meva's pieces, such as The Final Battle - Meva, which features this iconic countermelody during the final battle scene against Falcon Empire.
Now, let's hear the beautiful Meva's Theme, performed by Yoshio on his OCAR sax:
